Atlanta police announced a $50,000 reward for information that will help them solve who killed two young boys attending a birthday party earlier this week.
According to WSB-TV, Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman, both 13, were fatally shot early Tuesday morning at the West End Apartments in the Oakland Park neighborhood.
Jakoby’s father, Dontavious Davis, Sr. said his son had gone to Freeman’s house to celebrate Freeman’s 14th birthday, where both children were fatally shot. Jakoby’s younger brother, an 11-year-old, was also injured in the shooting.
“All I can tell you is that these young kids they had absolutely no ties to gangs,” Detective Summer Brenton with Atlanta PD told the outlet. “They were doing nothing wrong. They were hanging out with each other right outside their apartments.”
