The remains of an Arizona woman reported missing on Sunday were found after a week-long investigation into her disappearance that included the arrest of her husband for aggravated assault.
Flagstaff Police did not say where the remains of 45-year-old Kelly Paduchowski were located or provide any other information about the discovery, KTAR reported.
Daniel Paduchowski, 58, was arrested Monday night, as CrimeOnline reported. Kelly Paduchowski was reported missing at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday by her husband, who said she had left her home about six hours earlier for a run and a swim but never returned home.
Investigators later said they located her vehicle at the Campbell Mesa trailhead in Flagstaff. Officials launched a search and rescue mission at the trail with a state helicopter providing aerial support for search crews on foot and horseback.
Investigators later determined that Kelly Paduchowski’s cell phone was in the area of Schultz Creek Trail around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and that her husband was seen in the same area about an hour later, KTAR reported. Then, the wife’s cell phone pinged at the family home at about 12:15 p.m.
Her vehicle, a white Mazda CX-5, and her husband were then seen at the Campbell Mesa trailhead at about 1:30 p.m. When Daniel Paduchowski reported his wife missing, he said he thought she might be in the area of Lake Mary, several miles from Campbell Mesa.
The remains were found at about 10 a.m. on Friday, KNXV reported.
Daniel Paduchowski is being held on a $500,000 bond.
