A South Carolina woman was found dead Friday afternoon after New Jersey State Police requested a welfare check.
Two young brothers who were also part of the welfare check were not present at the Charleston County location when their mother’s body was found, and deputies released a request for information about them at about 7 p.m.
Thirty minutes later, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office said the boys, ages 4 and 9, had been located and were with family in New Jersey.
The county coroner has not yet released the name of the dead woman.
No further information was released about the woman or her death. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Forensic Services Unit are investigating.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 843-202-1700 or Charleston Consolidated Dispatch at 843-743-7200.
