A 14-year-old was shot and killed near an Alabama Walmart Sunday morning.
Birmingham Police said a group of juveniles were in the area Sunday morning with a firearm, but they don’t yet know what led to the shooting, WBRC reported.
The 14-year-old was brought to the University of Alabama Hospital in a minivan just before 7 a.m. and was pronounced dead.
The remaining juveniles were apparently still on the scene when police arrived. Four were taken in for questioning, and their parents called in.
“Juveniles can’t have guns in Alabama and now we’ve lost a kid,” said Birmingham Police Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
