Family Finds Woman Dead in Storage Container a Week After Reporting Her Missing

An Indiana woman was found dead inside a storage container on Sunday, a week after she was reported missing.

Tara Capps, 36, was found in a container located behind a food distribution center in Indianapolis. Capps’ mother told WTTK that her daughter was positively identified through fingerprints.

It is unclear when Capps died, but she was reported missing on June 30. Her death has been ruled a homicide, according to WRTV.

Capps’ mother told the news outlet, “We just went from a tip that we had that something happened to her and were searching and the last place was those woods, and I thought I covered everything and on Sunday I stumbled upon her.”

Anyone with information about Capps’ disappearance or death should call Detective Ingram at the IMPD Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or e-mail the detective at Jeremy.ingram@indy.gov
