Two Iowans have been charged with human trafficking following an investigation into a missing girl in May.
Tana Torres, 49, also faces second degree sexual abuse, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony, and prostitution charges, while Jarod Anderson 34, was also charged with third degree sexual abuse and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony, KCRG reported.
Cedar Rapids Police said the arrests came out of the investigation the disappearance of a juvenile girl in another jurisdiction who was later found in Cedar Rapids. Torres and Anderson forced the girl into prostitution, investigators said.
There is also a hold on Torres from the state of Kansas, jail records show.
The girl is now in a safe location, police said.
Anderson was arrested earlier this month for starting a fight at a youth football game.
Detectives said the human trafficking investigation was ongoing and declined to provide further information.
