A California man allegedly killed his two elderly parents and their dog on Tuesday.
Orange County police were responding to a domestic call at the San Juan Mobile Estates complex when they got another call about a “bloody man” attacking a maintenance worker and fleeing on a golf cart. Officers apprehended and shot the suspect, identified as Joseph Gerdvil, 41, who was hospitalized in stable condition, according to KABC.
Gerdvil’s parents, Ronald Walter Gerdvil and Antoinette Gerdvill, 77 and 79, were found decapitated with their pet chihuahua in their mobile home. Orange County police said they were investigating the “horrific scene” when they got the call about the assault involving Joseph Gerdvil and the maintenance worker.
“He had a drug issue,” a resident told KTTv. “That’s why he lived there and they kept him there.”
Another resident claimed he witnessed Joseph Gerdvil arguing with his father on Monday, a day before the slayings. Joseph Gerdvil allegedly was pointing in his father’s face, but the resident claimed he could not hear what was being said.
Joseph Gerdvil will be booked into jail on homicide charges once he is medically cleared. Authorities said he will likely face upgraded charges in the future.
