A Texas woman was arrested Sunday after police say she abducted her infant son from Child Protective Services in Bexar County.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, 7-month-old Richard Ramey was last seen at 10 p.m. on July 12, at Adkins-Elmendorf Road, near Calaveras Lake in Bexar County. He was last seen with his noncustodial mother, Nicole Daguanno, 30.
Officials said police found the infant inside a San Antonio home, and he seemed “to be in good health and is being checked by medical as a precautionary measure.”
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said that police arrested Daguanno, who will likely face charges of child endangerment, interference with child custody, and evading arrest, KSAT reports.
BSCO reportedly said the defendant had been ordered to turn her baby over to social services, and instead fled with him into a wooded area. She managed to elude police for several days.
She allegedly made plans to flee to El Paso before police captured her.
Salazar added that Daguanno “has a history of putting her children at risk.”
The infant is now in the care of Child Protective Services.
