“Mighty Magiswords” creator Kyle Carrozza was reportedly arrested last month in California for possessing child pornography.
Burbank Police Department’s daily arrest log from June 20 detailed Carrozza’s arrest, which resulted from an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigation. Cartoon Brew reported that the charges against Carrozza, 45, indicated that he had at least 12 videos or 600 videos depicting child pornography.
Carrozza’s creation, Mighty Magiswords, first aired on Cartoon Network in 2015 and ran for two seasons. USA Today reported he was also an animator on “The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.”
Additionally, Carozza was a storyboard artist and animator for several shows airing on PBS, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network, including “Doc McStuffins,” “Adventure Time,” and the 2020 “Animaniacs” reboot.
Additional details surrounding Carrozza’s arrest were not disclosed. His representatives have not yet publicly commented on the news.
