A 22-year-old New York man was charged Sunday with murder after he allegedly shoved his 44-year-old mother down an embankment in a Washington Heights park.
Police were called to the scene shortly after 4 p.m. and found Vianel Garcia, 44, with serious physical injuries after striking her head as she rolled down the grassy embankment, WABC reported. A witness told police that Miguel Duval pushed his mother down embankment near 165th Street and Riverside Drive.
She was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where she was pronounced dead.
Duval was charged with second degree murder.
