A missing pregnant Georgia teen was found dead on Monday, prompting her boyfriend’s arrest two days later.
Mia Campos’ family reportedly tracked her cellphone to discover her body less than a mile from her Gwinnett County home. Campos, 16, left home with an unknown person a day before her body was located, according to WANF.
Campos was due to give birth in September. Her death was ruled a homicide.
“I found my daughter laid face down,” Campos’ father told WANF. “I knew it was something wrong – her lips, her bleeding nose. They murdered my baby.”
Campos’ ex-boyfriend, Jesus Monroy, 20, has been charged with lying to police. He remains jailed without bond.
WXIA reported that authorities are still determining how Campos died. Additional charges may follow.
