A 5-year-old Colorado boy who vanished earlier this month — weeks after his mother was found fatally shot — remains unaccounted for.
Helliono Martinez was last seen with his father, Charles Martinez, 43, on July 16. Two weeks earlier, on July 2, Helliono Martinez’s mother, Chrystal Snow, 39, was found slain in her Pagosa Springs home following a 911 call, according to KXRM.
At the time of Snow’s slaying, her son was found safe with his aunt in Cortez.
An endangered child alert was issued on July 18 — two days after Charles Martinez and his son were spotted in a gold Dodge Ram. KUSA reported that the pair is still missing even after the vehicle was located.
According to the Denver Gazette, Charles and Helliono Martinez vanished the same day the Department of Human Services was granted emergency custody of the boy. They reportedly disappeared while en route to Charles Martinez’s home in Cortez.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said it believes Snow’s homicide was “targeted.” No suspects have been named.
Helliono Martinez was described as standing 3 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 75 pounds, and having brown hair and hazel eyes. Charles Martinez was described as being 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 215 pounds, and having brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information regarding Helliono and Charles Martinez’s whereabouts should call the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office at 970-565-8452.
