Boyfriend of Woman Found Hanging from Texas Boat Dock Arrested

The boyfriend of a Texas woman found hanging from a dock in May has been arrested in connection with the death.

James Hart was charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair a human corpse, KRIV reported.

Mother-of-four Giselle Salazar-Tapia, 30, lived on a boat at the Wharf Marina in League City with Hart, as CrimeOnline reported.

Police said at the time they believed Salazar-Tapia died elsewhere and that the hanging was a “staged suicide.”

And then, less than three weeks later, a second woman was found dead on a boat at the marina.

Family members identified her as Aleta Fuentes and said the two women were acquainted with the same people, according to KTRK. League City police are reportedly investigating to see if the two deaths are connected and are still awaiting toxicology reports for both women. They said they believed Fuentes died of a drug overdose.

According to court records, Hart has been given an $80,000 bond, KRIV said.
