3-Year-Old Boy to Have Organs Donated After Vicious Dog Attack

A 3-year-old Minnesota boy will be taken off life support Monday, more than a week after dogs reportedly attacked him and his mother in a backyard.

According to the Minnesota Star-Tribune, Covil Allen and his mother were attacked at a Brooklyn Park home on July 19. Officers who responded to the scene fatally shot one dog and seized the wounded dog, which was later euthanized.

Allen’s mother was bitten in the leg in the attack which left her son seriously injured.

WCCO reported that dogs were being sold at the home where the attack occurred. Allen’s family was apparently at the residence to purchase a dog.

“There were adults in the area that started to defend the 3-year-old by using hammers and pickaxes to get the dogs off,” a search warrant stated.

However, on Monday, a GoFundMe page for Allen and his mother announced the toddler would have his organs donated on Monday. His mother is reportedly expected to undergo surgery on the same day.

Brooklyn Park police Inspector Elliot Faust said the two dogs were an “XL variety” of American Bullies, a bulldog-pitbull mix. According to the New York Post, charges are pending and investigators are expected to turn over their evidence to prosecutors for review.
