Two people have been charged with killing a child in north Alabama.
Little information is available, but Mason John Grimes, 36, and Brooklyn Paige Posey Grimes, 31, were booked Wednesday afternoon on charges of intentional murder, felony murder, and child abuse of a child under 15, according to jail records.
WBRC reported that the victim was a child under 6 years old.
Both are being held at the Blount County Jail in Oneonta, north of Birmingham, without bond. Police did not make their relationship clear, but their jail records say they both have an address in Horton, an unincorporated community in neighboring Marshall County, and a Facebook post says they were married on November 19, 2016.
Another Facebook post alludes to the couple caring for 17 foster children in the past five years.
No further information was released, but Blount County Sheriff Mark Moon announced a press conference for Thursday afternoon about the “recent murder arrest.”
The Grimeses are the only people charged with murder in the past month in Blount County.
