A Colorado man has been charged with the murder of a woman he met on a social media platform.
Jorge Meza-Alarcon Jr., 26, has been charged with first degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Anabelle Floren-Wyant, who was found dead in his home in unincorporated El Paso County early in the morning of August 1, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported.
A friend of Floren-Wyant’s told police that he had dropped her off at Meza-Alarcon’s home to “collect money” from him, but that she told her friend Meza-Alarcon was “weird” and asked for periodic check ups. The friend called police about 90 minutes after she stopped responding to him.
Officers arrived at about 3 a.m. and found Floren-Wyant dead on the floor with her pants and underwear around her ankls and blood near her ear.
The officers found Meza-Alarcon about three miles away with visible injuries to his face, the paper said. He told police he’d agreed to meet with Floren- Wyant to have sex for money via Snapchat and text message and that she hit him with something like a phone when he was paying her and he blacked out, KKTV reported. He said he came to on the street 3.3 miles from home and called 911.
According to the arrest affidavit, Meza-Alarcon said that Floren-Wyant ahd threatened him in the past. He felt threatened, he said, when he saw a vehicle outside and surmised the person in the vehicle and the victim would attack him.
After Floren-Wyant hit him, he said, he put her in a leglock and then a chokehold until she died. He knew she was dead, he said, because he was well-trained and “knows how to do locks.”
Meza-Alarcon is due in court on Thursday.
