A former student at El Camino College in California was found dead after apparently jumping from the fifth Floor of a parking garage at the school — and this after he apparently tried to stab his mother to death.
Torrence Police and campus officers responded to the scene just before 5:30 p.m. on Friday and found the man’s mother with multiple stab wounds, KTTV reported. She was taken to Harbor UCLA Medical Center in critical condition.
The man reportedly ran into the parking structure after stabbing his mother and jumped to his death, according to a statement from the college.
According to KTLA, witnesses said the woman was screaming for help, saying her son stabbed her as she lay bleeding on the sidewalk.
“An apparent suicide has occurred at Parking Lot H. El Camino College Police is working with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to investigate the matter,” the college told staff and students in a text alert.
Neither the suspect nor the victim have been publicly identified.
