A Texas man was arrested this weekend for intentionally giving his 4-month-old son gasoline to drink to kill him.
Emergency crews responded Saturday to a Paris home regarding Edgar Bridgemon’s infant son. It was then when Bridgemon, 24, admitted to trying to kill his son with gasoline before fleeing the scene on foot, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
MyTexasParis.com reported that police apprehended Bridgemon a block away. His son was taken to a local hospital but later moved to a hospital in the Dallas area for additional care, officials said.
Bridgemon has been charged with attempted capital murder and evading arrest. He remains jaileed on a $255,000 bond.
His son’s condition is unknown as of Tuesday.
