‘Danger to the community’: Instagram Model Confesses She Took ‘Party Drug’ Before Killing 2 in Fiery Crash

A New York Instagram model allegedly caused a crash in Miami that killed two people and injured two others while she drove on a suspended license.

Local 10 News reports that Maecee Marie Lathers, 24, wasn’t supposed to be driving during Saturday’s crash, according to Miami police. Police said she told officers she was under the influence of a party drug known as “pink cocaine” during the crash.

In Friday’s court appearance, JFlorida 11th Circuit Court Judge Mindy S. Glazer called Lathers “an absolute danger to the community,” while reading an arrest report.

“She’s an absolute danger to the community based on killing or driving when she shouldn’t have been in a car, and she’s clearly impaired based on her statements,” the judge said. “And if it wasn’t for the citizens or witnesses nearby who stopped her, she would have completely fled.”

Lather allegedly sped her Mercedes-Benz on North Miami Avenue a little after 6:45 a.m. on August 10, She then allegedly ran a red light at North Eighth Street and slammed into a black Range Rover. The crash caused a chain-reaction collision with the Range Rover and a sedan.

The rear passenger in the sedan died at the scene. The driver, identified as Abraham Ismael, was pulled from the wreckage and later died at a hospital. His wife, Juanita Hernández, who was in the passenger seat, and the driver of the Range Rover were both hospitalized.

Security footage captured Lathers walking away from the scene before witnesses pulled her back to the scene, according to the report.

When police arrived, they noticed that Lathers appeared to be under the influence and questioned her, the Daily Beast reports.

“She advised she was under the influence of ‘2C’ a known party drug and that she was from the future and had a crystal ball,” Glazer read from the report.

Lathers is facing four counts of driving without a license and four counts of leaving the scene of a crash that caused death or serious injuries.

Glazer ordered her to be held on a $140,000 bond.

Meanwhile, a GoFumd Me set up for Hernandez said he left behind a teen son.

“I am now unable to work due to my injuries, and the boy’s life has been turned upside down,” his wife wrote on GoFundMe. “His mother, who lives in Nicaragua, suffers from Parkinson’s disease and is now not only grieving but also left without the financial support her son provided.”
