An arrest has been made in Tennessee after a woman reported missing earlier this month was found dead in a vehicle in the middle of a DeKalb County cornfield five days later.

Joshua Wayne Goff has been charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said on Monday.

Rebecca Maxfield, 29, was reported missing on August 4 to the Smithville Police Department in DeKalb County, according to WJLE.

“A missing persons report was filed with the Smithville Police Department on Aug. 4 in which a friend stated she (Maxfield) had not responded back to them for a couple of days,” said DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray and Smithville Police Chief Mark Collins.

The body, found in the DeKalb County cornfield on August 9, was identified late last week. Her phone reportedly last pinged in neighboring Warren County

Goff is being held on a $60,000 bond at the Warren County Jai, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said.

The investigation into Maxfield’s death is ongoing, according to Sheriff Jackie D. Matheny Jr.
