Soldier Allegedly Seen Buying Tools, Cleaning Supplies Before Reporting Pregnant Wife Missing

As the search for a missing Hawaii wife continues, police are also seeking tips regarding her husband and his whereabouts in July.

The Army Criminal Investigation Division investigators are currently seeking information on the whereabouts of 28-year-old Dewayne Arthur Johnson II between July 12 and August 1.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, his wife, Mischa Johnson, 19 and six months pregnant, vanished from her home at Schofield Barracks, O’ahu, Hawaii. The Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) received a missing persons report on August 1.

Private First Class Johnson is currently behind bars in connection with her disappearance but has not yet been officially charged.

“An individual has been placed into military custody in the Mischa Johnson missing person case. Mischa Johnson’s husband, Private First Class Dewayne Arthur Johnson II, is currently in military pretrial confinement in Hawaii,” Army’s 25th Infantry Division said Monday.

Sources told Hawaii News Now that store security footage showed Johnson purchasing tools and cleaning supplies before filing the report.

Although police have not confirmed it, family members said during a live social media post that Johnson is deceased and the case is a murder investigation. She was due to have a baby girl, Island News reports.

Family members also said they received text messages from Johnson’s phone after July 12, but they think someone else sent the messages.

Johnson is described as standing 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds. She has a large dragon tattoo on her back.

“Our efforts remain focused on locating Mischa, support to her family, and the safety and security of all personnel at US Army Hawaii installations,” Army officials said. “This is a current and ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time. We encourage anyone who may have information regarding Mischa Johnson to contact CID.”

The Army CIS announced a $10,000 reward for information related to the case. Anyone with information should contact the Army CID (808)-208-0059,
