The family of a West Virginia missing since June 2022 say that she would have been gone this long without contacting them.
According to WCHS, Brittany M. Horn (Duff), 32, was last seen leaving a home in the 1500 block of Jennings Creek Road on June 13, in Kermit. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white shirt, and carrying a backpack when she reportedly left on foot.
Brittany’s brother, Kevin Hare, said that this is not typical behavior of his sister, who typically contacted him daily.
“My sister would have called me by now. I know her. She tells me everything,” Kevin said.
West Virginia State Police (WVSP) said they are currently working with Kentucky State Police after Horn was reported to have been seen at a residence in Louisa, Kentucky, according to CBS 13.
Meanwhile, Kevin Hare reportedly said he heard a message left for one of Brittany’s friends talking about her being in Louisa.
“She kept saying, ‘I’m in Louisa. I’m leaving Louisa,'” he said. “So, I don’t know if she was trying to say she was in Louisa, that’s where she’s at, or if she was really leaving Louisa and going somewhere else. But she kept saying she was coming home. But she never came home.”
Kevin is desperate to find his sister, his best friend, and spends every waking moment searching for her—posting, messaging, and physically handing out posters locally and in Kentucky.
“From the time I wake up, I reach over and grab my phone,” he said. “And that’s all I do is post, post, post; message, message, message. I’ve even driven down to Louisa, which is three hours from me. I’ve driven down there, went door to door with her posters.”
The family is hoping to be able to offer a reward for information by collecting donations through a GoFundMe fundraiser.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the Williamson Detachment of the West Virginia State Police at 304-235-6000.
