Daughter of Former MLB Player Greg Swindell Missing After Boyfriend Allegedly Threatens to Kill Her

The daughter of a former MLB pitcher was reported missing in Texas on Monday, following an alleged fight with her boyfriend.

Brenna Swindell, the mother of three and daughter of longtime MLB pitcher Greg Swindell, has been missing from the Austin area since August 22, according to a Facebook post by her mother, Sarah Swindell.

The post describes Brenna’s disappearance as highly unusual, stating she would “never abandon her three children or leave without explanation.”

The Austin Police Department reported that Brenna Swindell and her ex-boyfriend, Morgan Guidry, were last seen together around 10:20 p.m. Thursday at Poodies Hilltop Roadhouse in Spicewood. By Friday evening, law enforcement had tracked her white 2022 Kia Carnival to Colorado.

Greg Swindell, who also posted his daughter’s disappearance on Facebook, said that Brenna’s phone was turned off, and she hadn’t reached out to any family members, including her children.

“Our daughter Brenna Swindell has not been seen or heard from in the Austin area since late Thursday afternoon,” he wrote Sunday. “Her phone is off and she has not been in contact with family, friends, and most importantly her children.”

The Facebook post mentioned that while both Brenna Swindell’s and Guidry’s phones “seem to be in Colorado, they are both turned off.”

The Austin American-Statesman reports that Brenna Swindell informed Travis County sheriff’s deputies last month that she feared her then-boyfriend might kill her.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit filed Friday, Guidry allegedly strangled his girlfriend multiple times and slammed her head onto the floor at an apartment complex on July 7.

Although the affidavit does not name the victim, Sarah Swindell confirmed to the American-Statesman that it was her daughter, Brenna Swindell, who suffered the attack.

The victim sustained several injuries, including to her clavicle, head, neck, and hand. She reportedly told police she threw a box of ammunition on the floor and fled toward an exit while Guidry grabbed a rifle.

When police arrived at the apartment, Guidry had already left with the rifle, but they found the scattered ammunition on the ground, an affidavit stated.

Brenna Swindell is described as standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair. She has a floral sleeve tattoo on one arm and a spider web design on her opposite shoulder.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact the Austin Police Department’s Missing Person Unit can be contacted at 512-974-5250. For reports outside Austin, call 512-974-5000.
