Investigators searching for Mamta Bhatt arrived at her home with search warrants and were shocked to find the house in disarray upon entering the front door.
They noticed packed luggage and, in plain view, passports belonging to Mamta’s husband, Naresh, and their daughter, Neema. Inside the home, officers used Bluestar Technology, a forensic tool that reveals invisible blood traces at crime scenes, uncovering pools of blood and blood spatter throughout the house.
In the master bedroom, the bed had been moved to block access to the closet. After moving the bed, detectives observed a light pink stain on the carpet, which they suspected to be blood.
Following the discovery of the light pink stain in the master bedroom, investigators noticed what appeared to be a blood trail leading from the bedroom to the master bathroom. Using Bluestar technology in the bathroom, detectives were shocked as the entire bathroom floor illuminated with what appeared to be blood.
In the master bathroom, investigators carefully removed the bathtub and confirmed, with the naked eye, what they believed to be blood—not only around the tub area but also trapped in the caulking. Investigators suspect that Naresh Bhatt killed his wife, dragged her body, creating a blood trail, and concealed it in a location that has yet to be discovered.
Although the body has not been found, investigators believe the amount of blood detected in the master bedroom and bathroom is inconsistent with survival. Naresh Bhatt has been charged with murdering his wife and concealing her body.
