New Charges Filed Against Missing Pregnant Teen’s Husband, $10K Reward Offered for Information

The Army on Tuesday filed charges against a cavalry scout soldier stationed in Hawaii, whose pregnant wife remains missing.

Army Times reports that Pfc. Dewayne Arthur Johnson II faces charges for making false official statements, obstructing justice, and producing and distributing child pornography, according to the Army.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, his wife, Mischa Johnson, 19 and six months pregnant, vanished from her home at Schofield Barracks, O’ahu. The Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) received a missing persons report on August 1.

Sources told Hawaii News Now that store security footage showed Johnson purchasing tools and cleaning supplies before filing the report.

Although police have not confirmed it, family members said during a live social media post that Johnson is deceased and the case is a murder investigation. She was due to have a baby girl, Island News reports.

While officials have not confirmed if the latest charges are directly linked to her disappearance, they indicated in a news release that “the charges arose from the investigation into Johnson’s disappearance.”

“This case remains an active investigation,” Office of Special Trial Counsel spokesperson, Michelle McCaskill, said. “We are confident that law enforcement will exhaust all efforts to find Mischa and the likelihood of additional charges is certainly a possibility as the case develops.”

Johnson has been in custody since August 19 and is now awaiting an Article 32 hearing, which serves as a preliminary hearing.

Meanwhile, the search for Mischa continues.

Family members also said they received text messages from Johnson’s phone after July 12, but they think someone else sent the messages.

Johnson is described as standing 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds. She has a large dragon tattoo on her back.

Anyone with details about the case is urged to contact the Army CID Pacific Field Office at (808) 208-0559, or via cid.army.mil/tips.
