Investigation Underway After Wells Fargo Employee Found Dead in Cubicle Four Days Later

An investigation is underway concerning the death of an Arizona Wells Fargo employee who died at work and found four days later ar her cubicle.

Denise Prudhomme, 60, of Tempe, Arizona, was last seen at work on Friday, August 16, when she scanned in at 7 a.m. Four days later, on August 20, her lifeless body was discovered in her cubicle, according to NBC News.

An employee who spoke confidentially to 12News described the situation as alarming.

“To hear she’s been sitting at the desk like that would make me feel sick,” the worker said. “And nobody did anything. That’s how she spent her last moments.”

Another employee revealed that Prudhomme’s body was found by a colleague during a routine walk around the premises, prompting security to be alerted.

Tempe authorities were notified by on-site security at the Wells Fargo branch located in the 1100 block of West Washington Street, where concerns about a possibly deceased employee had been raised. Prudhomme was declared dead at 4:55 p.m., according to police reports.

The Maricopa County medical examiner will determine the cause of death, but initial investigations revealed no signs of foul play.

Prudhomme’s work area is on the third floor in a sparsely populated part of the building, where many employees work remotely. Despite 24/7 security, there are concerns that Prudhomme’s body was not discovered sooner.

“That’s the scary part. That’s the uneasy part,” said an employee. “It’s negligence in some part.”

In a statement to USA TODAY, Wells Fargo expressed sadness over Prudhomme’s death. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, Denise Prudhomme. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones, and we are in contact to ensure they are well supported during this difficult time. We are committed to the safety and wellness of our workforce. Counselors are available to support any employees impacted by this event.”

The investigation into Prudhomme’s death is ongoing.
