Utah Woman, 3 Young Children Found Shot to Death in Vehicle

A woman and three children were found shot to death in a car in a city in northern Utah Tuesday night.

The Weber County Sheriff’s Office told the Gephardt Daily that the four were found by a family member just before 10 p.m. in a neighborhood in West Haven.

“When deputies arrived, they confirmed four people were deceased, and beyond any help,” Weber County Sheriff’s Sgt. Sean Endsley said. “It appears to be related to gunshot trauma, but, of course, an exact cause and manner have not been determined.”

Endsley said the adult was about 32 years old and the children were a 4-year-old boy and 2- and 1-year-old girls.

Further information, including the names of the victims, was not released, although investigators told KSTU the four victims were neighborhood locals.

Deputies told the station no one was in custody and they weren’t looking for a suspect. A handgun was found inside the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office said it had no information “to support any related or ongoing threat to public safety.
