The bodies of two toddlers were found in a car in Oklahoma Thursday afternoon.
Norman police said they were called to the scene at about 3 p.m. and found the children, both 2 years old, who were already dead.
Police said their ” investigation indicates that the two children were accidentally left in the vehicle for an extended period of time and were later located by family.”
The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
Temperatures in Norman Thursday afternoon were around 90 degrees. According to No Heat Stroke, 27 children have died after being left in vehicles for an extended period so far this year. The two children in Norman have not been added to the list. Last year, 29 children died under those circumstances.
