A Florida couple was arrested Sunday after Okaloosa County deputies spotted a young boy running across multiple lanes of traffic, naked and covered in feces.
The deputies knew the boy’s identity and took him to a home in Fort Walton Beach after cleaning him up and wrapping him in a towell, the sheriff’s office said.
At the home, the deputies saw another child nude and covered in feces.
Investigators found conditions at the home to be “deplorable” and “prescription medications within reach of a total of five children, all under the age of 12.”
Danielle Roberson, 34, and Jacob Roberson, 32, were charged with five counts each of child neglect. Danielle Roberson remains behind bars on a $15,000 bond, but the judge gave Jacob Roberson a $5,000 bond, which he paid the next day and was released, jail records show.
The Department of Children and Families is also investigatimg, but the sheriff’s office did not disclose the children’s current location.
