Police in central Louisiana are investigating a shooting Saturday morning that left a 12-year-old dead and another person wounded.

Alexanderia Police released little information about the shooting, except to say they responded to the call just before 9 a.m. in the south part of the city and found the girl dead.

The wounded person was said to be in stable condition, but police provided no other information about that person.

They called it an “ongoing investigation: and asked anyone with information to contact them at (318) 441-6416, or APD Dispatch (318) 441-6559.
