Long Island Man Poses as Social Services Worker to Sexually Abuse Disabled Shelter Patient

A 65-year-old Long Island man has been arrested and charged with impersonating a social services employee to get into a Suffolk County shelter, where he molested a physically disabled patient.

According to Newsday, Alfred Balcerak posed as an employee of the Suffolk Department of Social Services on September 6. He is accused of sexually abusing the patient and stealing items from them.

Balcerak was arrested at his home in Deer Park Friday night and charged with multiple counts, including forcible touching,  sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a physically disabled person, impersonation, and larceny.

He was expected to be arraigned sometime on Saturday.
