On Wednesday, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ attorney filed an appeal asking a New York federal judge to reconsider yesterday’s ruling to keep him jailed until trial.

According to the Associated Press, Combs’ attorney Marc Agnifilo asked Judge Andrew L. Carter to place Combs on home detention with GPS monitoring. Combs, who was arrested in Manhattan on Monday, has pleaded not guilty to racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The appeal comes a day after Judge Robyn Tarnofsky ruled to keep Combs jailed  — despite his lawyers offering to post $50 million bail, using his home as collateral. During Tuesday’s hearing, they sought to have him placed on home detention with GPS monitoring.

Meanwhile, federal prosecutors want Combs to remain jailed as they believe he’s a flight risk. According to CNN, prosecutors also cited evidence that Combs tried to cover up a 2016 incident in which he was filmed beating then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura at a California hotel.

Prosecutors argued he should remain jailed because he tried to obstruct that investigation. They then accused Combs of contacting victims and witnesses in their sex-trafficking investigation.

Ultimately, Judge Tarnofsky ruled for Combs to remain jailed without bond, finding that home confinement would be inadequate due to the severity of this case.

“This is a crime that happens behind closed doors, even when pretrial services is monitoring,” she said.

Combs’ trial has not yet been scheduled. The Associated Press reported that he is expected to reenter his not-guilty plea before Judge Carter.
