Investigation Underway After Police Find Missing Michigan Woman’s Body Buried at Vacant Property

The Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office in Michigan confirmed that a body discovered late Tuesday in Cook Township was of a missing 45-year-old woman.

County investigators and Ligonier Valley police reported that Amy Shipley was last seen on West Vincent Street on September 8.

On Tuesday, police searched a property on Helens Lane in Cook Township and found the body in a makeshift grave. As CrimeOnline previously reported, detectives used an excavator at the vacant property, while neighbors said the property was still used to burn trash and debris.

The cause and manner of death remain under investigation. The main suspect in the case, identified as 47-year-old Roger Angelo Jr., was found with a fatal self-inflicted wound near the area police found Shipley, ABC 4 reports.
