Michigan Man Charged With Killing Neighbor in His Driveway, Then Sexually Assaulting the Neighbor’s Wife and Daughter

A Michigan man has been charged with stabbing a neighbor to death in his driveway and then sexually assaulting the neighbor’s wife and daughter.

Timothy Ernest Legard, 50, has been charged with first degree murder, kidnapping, first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct, assault with intent to commit penetration, and felonious assault, WXYZ reported.

Prosecutors say that Legard accosted the 41-year-old neighbor outside the victims’ home at about 6 a.m. Wednesday, when he apparently stabbed him to death, then went inside the home where the wife was helping the daughter get ready for school. The mother and the daughter escaped to another neighbor’s home and called 911.

Officers found the husband’s body in the driveway with a stab wound to the chest. They found Legard a short distance away and took him into custody.

“This was an absolutely brutal and horrific attack on a family,” Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said in a statement. “First-Degree Murder, First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, and Kidnapping are life offenses, and they are the most serious charges my office brings. We will fight vigorously for justice for this family and to protect the community from those who perpetrate violence.”

Legard was booked into the Oakland County Jail and is expected in court for arraignment over the weekend.

The Oakland Press identified the murder victim as William John Allison.

“The allegations in this case are about as sick as they come,” said Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard. “Murdered one of his friends and then sexually assaulted the victim’s wife and young daughter in the same room. Even for seasoned law enforcement veterans, the emotional trauma on these poor victims is overwhelming. Disgusting on so many levels. I look forward to him being held accountable.”
