A 7-year-old North Carolina boy hit by a stray bullet during an argument Thursday night has died.
Burlington Police said the boy died Sunday morning
Police arrested Tremaine Armstrong, 18, and Kemontae Crosby, 21, on Thursday. Prior to the boy’s death, Armstrong was charged with attempted murder and discharging a weapon in an occupied building, and Crosby was charged with accessory after the fact.
They are being held without bond pending a hearing on Monday, according to jail records.
Police said an argument preceded the shooting and that the boy was “sitting outside his apartment” when he was shot.Investigators said there were “over a dozen people” at the apartments where the shooting took place and that they were trying to speak to each one.
Police declined to identify the victim, but family members told WFMY his name was Mason Jenkins. He died at about 1 a.m. Sunday, family said.
