Georgia Mom & Dad Charged After Children Hospitalized With Serious Injuries

A central Georgia mother and father have been charged after their two young children were found with injuries and hospitalized.

A witness called in a report of children in danger at a home in Del Park Thursday morning, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said. Responding deputies found a 2-year-old boy and and 4-year-old girl with injuries and took 30-year-old Kyle David Rogers, the children’s father, into custody.

The children were taken to a hospital for treatment, where the boy was listed in stable but critical condition and the girl in stable condition on Friday.

Rogers was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, cruelty to children, and terroristic threats.

On Friday, deputies arrested the children’s mother, Dajanae Nicole Jones. She was charged with cruelty to children and had outstanding warrants from the Sandy Springs Police Department and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Jones and Rogers are being held without bond.

The sheriff’s office did not describe the children’s injuries or provide any further information about the investigation.
