A man was shot and killed at a south Florida Mexican restaurant early Sunday when he and another man argued over the choice of music on the establishment’s jukebox.
The shooting happened at about 1:30 a.m. at Antojitos Mexicanos in Fort Lauderdale. Police have provided no information at all about the shooting, but a witness said the “two guys got into an argument because one of them played a song and the other guy was kind of pissed off.”
Mauro Bonilla, who said he spoke with a witness, told WSVN that the two men chased each other through the restaurant with both of them firing shots.
The man was ultimately shot and killed while the other man fled the scene.
Bonilla, who was quoted by all the local media outlets despite not actually witnessing the shooting himself, told WFOR that the angry man told the other man he wasn’t “a real Mexican if you play that music.”
No one reported what the music was. The local outlets reported different versions of who fired first, despite all using Bonilla as their source.
