A “beloved” staff member of a US Army hospital in Texas was found dead earlier this week week on a popular trail in San Antonio.
Stacey Dramiga, 63, was reported missing on Sunday morning after she failed to return from a walk on the Salado Greenway Trail, KSAT reported. San Antonio Park Police found her body near Dafoste Park on Monday.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the body was found about 30 yards off a trail in a wooded area. The Medical Examiner’s Office said she died from head trauma.
The Brooke Army Medical Center confirmed that Dramiga had been found dead.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends, and co-workers,” the hospital said in a statement. “Stacey was a beloved member of the BAMC staff and will be greatly missed.”
Salazar told reporters that Dramiga may have spoken with a woman on the trail and that investigators would like to locate that woman and speak with her. She is not considered a suspect, he said.
Dramiga’s family is cooperating with the investigation and is also not considered involved in her disappearance or death, the sheriff said.
