11-Year-Old Ohio Boy Arrested for Terroristic Threats at Middle School

An 11-year-old child was arrested early Friday morning for threatening a school shooting in Ohio.

Kent Police said the child made the threat via text message to another student, who contacted police, WJW reported.

The school involved, Stanton Middle School, closed Friday “out of an abundance of caution.”

Police said they interviewed the boy and his parents before charging the 11-year-old with making terroristic threats.

He is being held in the Portage Juvenile Detention Center.

Dozens of school shootings and bombings have been investigated across the country since a 14-year-old Georgia student killed two teachers and two classmates on September 4, as CrimeOnline reported. Colt Gray and his father, Colin Gray — who gave his son the rifle he used in the shooting as a Christmas present after investigators questioned them both about threats made last year — have been charged in the Apalachee High School shooting.
