2-Year-Old Boy Found Dead Alongside Injured Twin Brother After ‘Suspicious Incident’

New York authorities are investigating after a 2-year-old boy was reportedly found dead on Monday and his twin brother was hospitalized.

Monroe County Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Brendan Hurley said the toddler boy was pronounced dead after emergency crews were called to a Hilton home concerning a child having a seizure. Hurley said the deceased boy’s brother was taken to the hospital and is in guarded condition, according to the Democrat and Chronicle.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is not suspected in this case. Police described Monday’s incident as “suspicious” even though they did not find legal or illegal drugs in the home, according to WHEC.

Four people, including the boys’ parents and siblings, were home at the time but were not injured.

“This was a 2-year-old and his death is a huge loss for the community,” Hurley commented. “We owe it to the family and to everyone to find out what happened here and to get answers.”
