Florida Man Guns Down Friend on a Walker While ‘Standing Watch’ for Unnamed Threat

A Florida man shot his friend dead while they were “standing watch” against what they felt was some kind of unnamed threat.

David Kueker and his 44-year-old friend were outside Kueker’s sister’s home Tuesday night, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said. Kueker got into the back seat of a car and promptly fell asleep while he was supposedly “standing watch.”

His friend saw that Kueker, 41, was asleep and approached the vehicle, on a walker. Kuerker abruptly woke up and saw him outside the car, so he fatally shot him through the car window.

“This action is deemed by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office to be grossly negligent, and he is being charged accordingly,” Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said.

Kueker was charged with manslaughter.
