Jessica Barnes: Roommate Admits to Witnessing Murder, Helping SC Woman’s Husband Hide Body

Additional details have emerged in connection with South Carolina woman Jessica Barnes, who was found deceased earlier this week.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Barnes’ husband, Brandon Barnes, and two roommates have been charged in connection with her death, according to arrest warrants.

Her husband faces a murder charge, according to Pendleton police. The couple’s roommates, Kendall Mims and Victoria Tippett, are charged with being accessories after the fact, obstruction of justice, and failure to report a crime.

The arrest affidavit stated that Brandon Barnes is accused of killing Jessica by “using his arms to strangle her to death,” on August 2.

“The defendant did admit to the murder after being advised of Miranda,” the affidavit stated.

Police said Tippett saw Brandon Barnes killing Jessica, but failed to call for help. Instead, according to police, she helped him dispose of the body.

She “did admit to disposing of the victim’s body to obstruct justice of murder by defendant Brandon Barnes,” the affidavit read.

Mims, who had multiple opportunities to report the murder to law enforcement and did fail to do so,” is also accused of helping Barnes dispose of the body.”

Police found Jessica’s body in Twin Lakes, about five miles away from her Pendleton home.

Sources reportedly told FITS News that the couple had been having marital problems and that Brandon Barnes has a history of physical abuse.

All three defendants remain behind bars at the Anderson County Detention Center.
