Truck Driver Arrested After Missing 12-Year-Old Girl Found in Semi Cab at Truck Stop

A truck driver was arrested in Mississippi after authorities found a missing child in the cab of his semi at a truck stop, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

On Tuesday, police and FBI agents responded to an alert about a missing and endangered 12-year-old girl. Police were informed that the girl was in the Vaiden area and might be at a nearby truck stop, WAGM 8 reports.

FBI agents and Carroll County deputies began searching vehicles at the 35/55 truck stop in Vaiden, where they discovered the girl inside the cab of a semitruck.

Authorities took the driver, 35-year-old Randy Donovan Taylor, into custody and booked into the Carroll County Regional Correctional Facility, WTVA reports.

He faces multiple charges at the federal, state, and local levels for the abduction and victimization of the child.

Officials stated that additional charges are expected from North Carolina and Louisiana related to the case. In Carroll County, Taylor faces charges of possession of child pornography and lustful touching.

Police have not released further details.
