The FBI is involved in an ongoing search for a 13-year-old Indiana girl who vanished in August.
WMAQ reported that on Saturday, Gary police and the FBI executed a search warrant at Ja’Niyah McMichael’s home in connection with her disappearance. However, police declined to provide additional details concerning the warrant due to the ongoing investigation.
“We strongly urge the public to refrain from sharing unvetted information, as this can severely impede the ongoing investigation,” Gary police wrote.
McMichael was reported missing on August 11. Officials have released few details regarding her disappearance.
McMichael was described as standing 4 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing 101 pounds. Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call the Gary Police Department at 219-881-1229 or the Indiana Department of Child Services Hotline at 800-800-5556.
