Las Vegas police are looking for clues to the death of a woman found stuffed into a suitcase early Thursday morning.

The Clark County coronor’s office identified the woman as Kristen Avelar, 46, the Las Vegas Review-Journal said.

Police said they responded to a call just before 4:30 a.m. Thursday near an apartment complex near Harry Reid International Airport.

The department’s homicide until is handling the investigation, although a cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.

Detectives want to speak with anyone who knew Avelar or who has information about her movements before her body was found.
