Louisiana man was arrested Wednesday on charges of rape and battery, according to arrest records.
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Jakob Sedrick Oakley, 21, of Opelousas. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree rape and one count of aggravated battery.
On October 2, the Sheriff’s Office investigated a female victim at a local hospital. She said she met Oakley in the Lafayette area.
Oakley allegedly took her phone, tied her up, and drove her into St. Landry Parish. He then raped her at gunpoint and pistol-whipped her. After the assault, he allegedly shoved the victim into a ravine in the Lawtell area, according to KADN.
Both of Oakley’s charges are felonies. He is being held at the St. Landry Parish Jail with bond set at $115,000.
