An apparently malnourished 4-year-old boy with burns on his chest died Sunday night in Harlem.

Police were called to the apartment just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday night and found the unconscious child. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospital/Harlem, where he died, sources told WPIX.

The boy’s mother was taken into custody. The investigation continued Monday, and police didn’t say if they expected charges to be filed.
