A 47-year-old Florida man was arrested for groping a teenage “scare actor” at a Jonesville haunted house Friday night.
Lonnie Joe Ward Jr. has been charged with lewd and lascivious behavior with a victim under the age of 16, the Alachua Chronicle said.
The victim said Ward was the last person to go through the haunted house. She said she was sitting in a chair and another juvenile scare actor was behind her when Ward came into the area, walked over to her, then bent down and touched her inappropriately over he clothing. She said he also grabbed her arm and held on for about 30 seconds while staring at her “in a bizarre manner” before letting go and leaving.
According to WCJB, Ward groped the 15-year-old girl’s inner thigh.
The second juvenile, a boy, corroborated the story and said Ward looked at him as if he were trying to “play it off” by looking surprised before he left, the Chronicle said.
Ward told police he didn’t touch anyone and had been looking for his son.
He was arrested on Saturday and ordered held without bail in the Alachua County jail, Law&Crime reported.
