Jurors were seated Tuesday for the trial of Richard Allen, a man accused of the 2017 murders of two teenage girls during a hike in Indiana.
Jury selection concluded Monday and Tuesday in Fort Wayne, with twelve jurors and four alternates chosen to hear the case against Allen, who faces charges in the deaths of 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, the girls vanished while hiking along the Monon High Bridge trail on February 13, 2017, in Delphi, Indiana.
Their bodies were discovered the next day and Allen, a local resident and pharmacist, was arrested and charged with their murders more than five years later.
Jurors are scheduled to take oaths Thursday for the trial in Delphi. Opening statements are slated for Friday morning.
The trial is expected to span a month, with jurors sequestered throughout, with bans on using their cellphones or watching news coverage.
