Philadelphia Police found a 61-year-old woman dead and wrapped in plastic in a closet in her home this week after friends reported her missing.
Police said Vladimir Lushevskiy, 65, was charged with abuse of a corpse, WCAU reported, and may face additional charges once an autopsy determines a cause of death for Lola Karabaeva.
Karabaeva’s friends reported her missing at about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, saying they hadn’t spoken with her in nearly 24 hours.
But police did not search her home until Wednesday morning, when they found the body.
Neighbors provided WTXF with video showing Karabaeva arriving home at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, the last time they said she was seen. The neighbors said she had just returned from a month-long trip to Europe and that she had received threats from her husband.
“I did not talk too much to Vladimir, that’s her husband. He’s a little bit crazy,” said Mikhail Igdalov, who added that he’d known the couple for 17 years.
